Trousers

Some trousers are absolutely brilliant because they flatter you, they are comfortable, they wash like a ribbon and don’t need ironing or they are the style you are used to and they go with everything else you have in your wardrobe. Knowing what looks good on you is useful but you don’t have to get in a rut with your wardrobe just because you are afraid of change or ignorant of new fashions and looks. Staying ‘safe’ can become boring and outdated. Seeing the trousers on our models you can have a better idea of whether the style will suit you (and the purpose they are to serve) so much better than if they are just hanging on rails or sitting on shelves. This season combat trousers, cargo pants and safari trousers are still very popular and JKL Clothing has some classic military style trousers, sweat pants and work pants. Many pubs and clubs have dress codes that don’t allow admission of patrons wearing jeans so it makes sense to have another casual alternative in your wardrobe that will allow you entry anywhere, for any occasion unless there is a demanding dress code that requires a lounge suit or is a black tie function. British men have at last taken to wearing shorts as leisure clothing, not just beach wear. They are comfortable, practical and cool in warmer weather. There are still horrific fashion faux-pas with men in shorts the main complaint probably being the socks that are worn with the garment. If it is cool enough to wear shorts then it is probably cool enough to wear appropriate cool footwear. Any type of patterned sock is atrocious and many men who wear socks with sandals, even sports socks, look ridiculous. When wearing shorts it probably is a much smarter move to wear trainer socks to line your footwear so that there is no great expanse of ankle cuff on view. At least keep the sock cuff as low as the shoe. Trainers can look scruffy or passé so opt for a pair of lightweight canvas shoes if you still want to wear socks or keep feet bare inside moccasins, sandals or flip-flops. Unless you are wearing your shorts in a businessman or military official southern-hemisphere style way with knee-length socks, a tailored short-sleeved shirt and a safari jacket you should stay away from anything but casual wear with shorts. T-shirts, polo shirts, vests and casual short sleeve shirts would all look well with long shorts and hairy legs are fine!
